May not be ideal for taking to hostels then, if it takes a while. Thanks for your help :-) |

I think the proportions water to powder goes 5-1. Anyhow, you should boil most of the water whilst whisking the rest of the water and the powder together and put that liquid into the boiling water. Stir it continuously for 5 minutes while it boils. Flavor with sugar if you want after it has cooled off. |

I found some of this in an oriental food shop a few months ago and instantly bought it hoping for 2 things: - To be able to make the "venus bars" (vegan m*rs bars) I have a recipe for, which calls for powdered soya milk - To be able to take the powder with me when I go away and can't find affordable soya milk There are no English instructions on the packet, but there's a photograph of a glass full of white liquid on the front of the packet, so I took this to mean it can be used to make soya milk. It doesn't dissolve in cold water but I haven't tried anything else. Does anyone know anything about this stuff? Does it need to be boiled and strained perhaps? Can it be made in a microwave or with water from a kettle? I go away on Monday so I have tonight and tomorrow to experiment and hopefully find a hassle-free way of making soya milk with it! Any tips would be greatly appreciated. |
