I remember the webcam being alright, not crappy. But it does look like a webcam not a super clear picture or anything.

dont_eat_bambi I ordered a pink Inspiron 1525 Laptop with a 2.0 megapixel camera, I hope that it is good enough . I have been wanting one of these things for awhile... yay!!!

Nishani Anything over about 1.3 MP is acceptable quality for the use you're looking for. Just check out the cam specs before you buy. This guy doesn't say what model Dell he has which is a bit silly, but the video was posted in 2007 so it should give you some idea of the quality.

Masja I have a dell with the cam and i find the quality to be better than my old webcam, which we bought quite a few years ago. I never use the webcam, but it's handy to have it built in, especially with a laptop, it'd be different if I had a desktop.

dont_eat_bambi My parents are going to be moving about 14 hours away and I want to have a webcam for my mom and I to communicat more. Does anyone have a dell laptop with the webcam built in? Im trying to decide if I want to buy one of the outlet ones that are still "new" or if I want to build my own or If I just want to buy the webcam seperate. The webcam is the deal breaker. If you have a built in webcam is the quality okay or cruddy as can be?
