|choptveg||I love this thread but am I being overly optimistic in thinking that perhaps some of these large companies seek to learn from the smaller ethical/eco/vegan friendly businesses they are buying and backing financially?|

Last time I looked at one of their products ingredients lists I was pretty horrified - a long way from the chemical free product that I would want.

For anyone else who is interested in this subject, I found this chart:
It's pretty surprising to see all of this. I suppose I should have started researching this sort of thing sooner.

I've heard that Holland & Barrett, who have recently taken over Julian Graves, are owned by Booker, who also own Dewhurst and Sun Valley.
Can anyone confirm this ?

It doesn't mean the smaller company is now practicing non-eco friendly behaviors.

Effing great thread idea. I like to be fully aware of the thugs behind the sweet innocents. (or those at least trying to be eco/vegan/animal friendly).

If you know any smaller, more "natural" or "organic" oriented companies that have been bought by larger, less vegan-friendly companies, list them here. Some that I'm aware of:
-Back To Nature (owned by Kraft Foods)
-Tom's of Maine (partly owned by Colgate/Palmolive)
-Odwalla (owned by Coca-Cola)
-Naked (owned by PepsiCo)
