tearhsong2 If I didn't have to work on Black Friday, I probably would have just stayed home. If I went out to shop at all, I would have waited until later in the day when the crowds die down.

As it was I worked from 6:30am-11:30pm on Friday. A long day, but it went by quickly. I was glad to have the weekend off!

The key is to go into the store WITHOUT a cart unless you absolutely need it. You get stuck if you have a cart, but you can weave your way around without one.

People complain, but traffic really isn't THAT terrible. It just like dinner hour, but at 4-5 am lol.

The parking lots are packed though lol.

$8! Awesome I didn't even think to check clothing at Target... I'm not sure it was even on sale. It was a MADHOUSE.

danakscully64 Can we please try to keep the thread on topic? It's about the deals people got, not personal issues and the craziness that leads to death. Thanks

you said something foolish because you didn't bother to listen to the conversation. hoodedclawjen made a nice post back at the beginning of this thread that will interest you. get over it, this isn't about you and me.

troub I slept in for $0.00.

Not having to drive in crazy traffic or wait in lines was just bonus.

Definitely worth it.

Wolfie I don't do crowds and I don't do mornings.

danakscully64 I decided to keep the TV. The reason I was thinking about not doing so was because I was going to put it downstairs in the family room until I move out. My parents tv, which is 32" inches, is dying after 20 years (huge 4 inch line across the top). My niece and myself are really the only ones who watch tv downstairs.

karenlovessnow I think the thing with Black Friday (for me, anyway) is to not go when the stores open...if you go an hour or two after that, it's not so bad.

I bought a samsung LED TV a while back, the energy efficiency was real important to me. but in hindsight I paid way too much for it. I should have gone with one of those Vizio TVs from Costco, really good quality for the price. you seem to be a videophile so I just thought I'd mention. 1080p is a little overrated unless you have one of those screens that just dominates the room in an obnoxious way.

megbot I went to gamestop at 8:30 and got the bf a game for regular price.

I went to Kohl's and got my brother a luggage set marked down from 220 to 59, a few candles for a couple bucks, and a bunch of socks (6 pairs for 3.60 or something).

It took 30 minutes in Kohl's, the line moved quick and there was parking. I'm not all about the big early rush though

Kiz The greed and mindless consumerism of events like this disgusts me.

chryssiie718 I worked in retail for many years and became quite sick of the whole Christmas shopping frenzy. Last year I had to work at 5 AM and watched the crazy people line up and pack the store. This year I am unemployed and will avoid the crowds!

I don't think so... my Mom's name is Sally, not Karen I'm not the type of person to waste money, but my sleep, body temp, and sanity are priceless to me.

GhostUser My sister works in retail, and she just texted me about her store. People are going INSANE. People have been camped out since 3am YESTURDAY morning, waiting for the store to open this morning. There are TONS of cops there and tons of people getting arrested because everyone is breaking out into fights everywhere. I wish she didn't have to work today, people are so stupid.

nataliex1122 The wal-mart story is really horrific.

karenlovessnow I skipped the stores today. I've gone a few times, like last year and a few years before. But I really hate it. So I didn't bother this year.
