Here in California they're called Souplantation and I really like that place. They're very vegetarian friendly, but not so much vegan friendly, except for most, if not all, of the salad bar, and the fruit for dessert. Since I'm vegetarian, I have no problem. Items are labeled either vegetarian or non vegetarian.
And they have discount coupons in the Sunday newspaper coupon inserts and in direct coupon mailings. They also take a 10% discount for auto club members. Ask a neighbor or friend to save coupons for you. I haven't paid full price there in years.

they have a huge salad bar so you can customize a salad. Other then that you won't find much else. They do label options vegetarian but you may have to ask if they are vegan.
They do have fruit you can pick from for a dessert.

Only the salad bar and a couple of soups... the remaining dishes all have meat and cheese.
The salad bar is overpriced. I do not like that place.
