Dirty Martini | meh... tempeh, beer, cheese, vinegar, wine... they're all fermented/moldy and we don't freak out about those like we do over Quorn. |

I've read that too, and have stayed away from eating it as well. A Mushrooming Quorn Controversy http://www.wired.com/science/discove.../2002/04/51842 A New York Times article is available here, but it's pay-to-view: http://select.nytimes.com/gst/abstra...fM%2fMushrooms |

Treehugger267 | I thought that I read that it is more of a mold that a mushroom....is that right? The article I read about it kind of freaked me out...but then again, everything freaks me out. |

Lydia | No, it isn't vegan, but it's a good vegetarian food. |

You're in the UK, right? Go to Holland & Barrett and they have lots of vegan stuff for about the same price as quorn. Fake ham, beef, chicken and turkey slices and sausages, chicken bits, beef bits, burgers - all sorts. Quorn was my biggest thing to give up on turning vegan too, but it's not too dreadful. ![]() |
