Sky 17 mile bike ride

Way to go slynny! I know you were disappointed, but I think you are awesome! Your hubby too!

Mskedi, I think I missed what the rehearsals are for and I take it that it's now show time. Hope the show goes great!
06-28-2003 06:12 PM
rainbowmoon ran for 80 minutes. How was that a bad hampstering day??!?!

06-28-2003 05:45 PM
GhostUser My legs deserve a day off, so no running today. I think I'll let my legs rest tomorrow too. I did a good bicep workout today and I'll beat my abs up sometime later.

Have a good weekend all,

06-28-2003 05:34 PM
entresol 80 minutes on the treadmill (running)

40 push-ups

75 crunches, 75 side-reaches, 75 bicycle kicks

70 lunges

Today was a bad hamstering day. Ah well, at least I did something.
06-28-2003 03:26 PM
rainbowmoon LOL rigamorole, they were the slowest 5 miles known to man! I deserved a trophy for my stinkiness! hehe!

slynny Hey Hamsters,

Well today was raceday...I don't know what the deal is with me and races and the weather! For the last race I ran it was 50 and it was 60 and raining...yucky! It was a tough race too! I wanted to finish in about 26 min or less...I started out great! The first mile I was at 8:14, but the next two miles were uphill all the way! and I just couldn't keep up the pace So I finished in a very dissapointing 27:38. O' really took everything I had to keep going uphill...I so wanted to stop and walk...but I didn't The hub finished in 22min & something and took 30th and he was not at all happy with his time either I think I came in around 300th.

Anyway it was a great Hamstering week!! Keep up the great work guys!!

Happy Hamstering people!

Schoska Yesterday:

2.5km brisk walk then in the evening another 1.5 hour brisk walk (dunno how much distance I covered though)

Today.. haha nothing. Well, some sit ups and I will be dancing a bit later tonight.
06-28-2003 03:59 AM
Mskedi The show went well tonight (thanks to hours of dance rehearsals).

Same deal tomorrow and then back to more normal hamstering activities on Monday.
06-27-2003 11:19 PM
Sky 3 mile walk today.
06-27-2003 09:30 PM
GhostUser kathym, I rollerbladed once....once. heh I was terrible at it and have since sworn it off. Good luck with that.

I envy your five mile run rainbowmoon. I can't wait until I can run for 5 miles.

me hamstering today: wake up-->yawn-->1.5 mile run-->2 mile FAST uphill walk-->20 minute slow walk cool down.

hours later: 20 minute chest/tricep session
06-27-2003 07:15 PM
rainbowmoon Today I cleaned for three hours and did a 5 mile run.
06-27-2003 03:38 PM
slynny Hehehe...Kathym make sure to get knee, elbow, and wrist pads...tie a pillow to your behind and you'll be just fine

Just kidding...well not about the knee pads...but if you've ever rollerskated in your life you will be able to rollerblade it's fun. Good luck!
06-27-2003 02:39 PM
austinswingrr kathym- rollerblading is so much fun!!! Take it slow until you get used to it, but then you can cut loose!

Speaking of which, I did 40 mins of rollerblading in the park today. Once I cool down a little I will stretch too.
06-27-2003 02:36 PM
entresol 1h55 on the treadmill (running, with 20 minutes of climbing)

50 lunges

50 push-ups

80 crunches, 80 side-reaches, and 80 bicycle kicks

I might lift weights, later.
06-27-2003 01:48 PM
GhostUser Between you and mean, I have little wrinkles around my mouth.

And my cute dimples are leaving fine lines!

I'm just waiting for my breasts to hit the ground any day now. Of course, at least then I get to have reduction surgery free of charge. But still!
06-27-2003 01:45 PM
kathym Trust me'll know when you're old! Hehehe!
06-27-2003 01:42 PM
GhostUser 4 min walk - 1 min run - 4 min walk - 40 sec run - 5 min walk

The walks were brisk, at least hehe

I don't understand it. When I was 19 and had gained 25lbs, I felt alive. It was amazing to feel energy. I decided I wanted to jog that day. First time in my life. I jumped out of the house and ran for two hours. Now, I get winded after 40 seconds.

Dang, I'm getting old.
06-27-2003 01:40 PM
kathym Ok, I'm buying rollerblades this weekend and I'm scared to death! I haven't as much as roller scated in years. I wish there was somewhere that I could go and do this where no one would see me crash and burn. But oh well if they do, if I can make one persons day; then I'm a happy hamster!

I love the picture VegAnaconda!!!!!
06-27-2003 01:39 PM
Mskedi Cute pic, VegAnaconda.

Today: 2-4 hours of dance rehearsals (depending on how bad it is) and the show (which will include a ballet-class type warm-up before the performance).

I'll probably burn more calories stressing out in the wings than during the actual dancing! I don't get stage fright or anything, but dress rehearsal was bad. I'll be both angry and embarrassed if it isn't clean tonight.

kraftykraft Ho ho - I haven't been to the gym in about a week and a half. However I have been in the process of moving and I think moving more than makes up for the no gym. I have been unpacking and breaking down boxes for three straight days. Then I have to break up the boxes and take them down to my car (down a flight of stairs) and take them to the dumpster. On Wednesday I made four trips to the dumpster. However I can't wait to start going to the gym again. I miss working out.

hopi100 Hi, Hamsters!

I learned several more moves in my Tai Chi class last night (bringing the total to 17) and got a LOT of good stretching while there. It's always surprising to me that such a slow, peaceful form of exercise can make itself known through my muscles the next day .

Today I jumped in the pool bright and early and swam about 35 laps. I think tomorrow I'm going to take a break (I try to take 2 rest days a week).

Have a great weekend, folks! Keep up the good work!

TreeManEarthSteward Helmet Demo: "For HAMSTERS" ( well as for mice!)
06-27-2003 01:23 AM
austinswingrr Went rollerblading in the park again today. Must have sweated a gallon...I think this heat wave here in Cali is my punishment for having complained about the cold all winter in Sweden.
06-27-2003 12:58 AM
Mskedi Flower... wear your helmet!!!!

Here's a public service announcement for you for inspiration:

A couple years ago I watched as a car (randomly and stupidly) swerved behind a biker. The biker was hit, flipped onto the hood (cracking the windshield) and rolled onto the pavement. Those at the scene were convinced the helmet saved his life. Trust me... with how he hit the car and how he fell, his head would have been a bloody mess at best.

I've got plenty more stories... I can post one every time you ride helmetless.

As far as my hamstering today: much dancing, and much stretching, as planned. Dress rehearsal was awful (costumes ripped, cues were off, traffic problems on stage...), so we've called even more rehearsals for tomorrow. It'll be over soon.
06-26-2003 10:46 PM
Sky Yea! Kitzy's wearing a helmet. Now we have to get Flower to wear one and help Bunny figure out what to do about the hair - maybe a braid or pull in back in a pony tail if it's long enough.

There were two serious biking accidents here in recent weeks. An 11 year old boy was hit by a truck. He suffered several broken bones and a head injury. He wasn't wearing a helmet. In another accident two cyclists ran into eachother at 30-35 mph and a group of I think it was 6 went down. Two people broke their clavicles. They were pretty lucky actually. Probably they were wearing helmets.

Today's workout: 11 mile bike ride

GhostUser Hi Hamsters!

Yesterday did this KILLER leg and upper back workout. Did lots of pull ups, chin ups and all sorts of nasty am cursing and trying to extend my arms! Hate it when that happens!

Today.....taught a 45 minute step class, followed by a 60 minute Body Pump (weight training) class. The a/c blew up yesterday so it was like teaching in HELL!!!!!!! I don't think I stopped sweating until I got home.........some 45 minutes later. YIKES!

Tomorrow............I have a long, 45 minute run. Like Slynny said to me, via need GILLS to live here in Maryland in the summer! yikes!

I think this weekend, we may do another 30-35 mile bike ride on the C&O Canal. What an awesome ride!
