For example my mom made adjustable (snaps instead of pins) cloth diapers for me and washed them herself to save money. But I also think it's fun and a matter of principle sometimes. |

On NPR yesterday, they interviewed editors of two interesting magazines about do-it-yourself projects, especially ones that re-use old stuff most people throw out. The magazines were Make Magazine http://www.makezine.com/ which is more technology oriented, like popular mechanics and Readymade Magazine http://www.readymademag.com/ which has contests like make the most creative thing out of styrofoam peanuts, and ideas for making gifts, etc. I plan on seeing if my library carries either of these. |
