Fortunately PETA and the Vegetarian Resource Group have excellent information on this very topic.

I hope those links help.

Okay so I am definitely a vegetarian, but although I would really like to call myself a vegan, I'm not certain I am avoiding enough of the little ingredients that are made of animal products. I know about renin and caseine, but does anyone have a comprehensive list of all animal ingredients and what they are from? Until reading some posts on this site, I did not realize how many ingredients I am supposed to be watching out for. I also have never thought to look at my shampoos and cleaning products until recently. What am I looking for there?
