RoboMonkey It's from lactic acid and not lactose. Lactic acid is usually produced commercially by bacteria.

SonicEarth Iron Lactate, also known as Ferrous Lactate... Is it vegan? It is listed on the ingredients of a product that would otherwise be vegan. Where does ferrous lactate come from?
