just browsing the Pura Vida menu... omg... we are so going there. maybe we can go the first day and stock up on some muffins for breakfast for the whole stay so we can skip going out for breakfast every day and save some money i don't eat a lot in the morning, cereal or a muffin is enough for me (but i do need to eat, i get all kinds of crazy without breakfast..) and hubby rarely eats breakfast at all so this would be a great solution. and i need to try the french toast and that chocolate banana smoothie sounds amazing

I second the Sky Jump. It was INCREDIBLE. MrSchu stayed safely on the ground.

this place is crazy and all kinds of intense
so far everything we've eaten at the Wynn and Encore has been fantastic but pricey. had french toast for breakfast yesterday. a bit expensive for breakfast but really big portions i couldn't finish it. had a calzone at the pizza place, so good. tuna and egg salad sandwiches on croissants from the cafe... really great midnight snack lol. all vegan not a ton of choices on most menus but there ARE choices. we're hoping to get in to wazuzu for supper and if we gamble a bit more we might have enough red card points for a free buffet meal.
also had an awesome falafal wrap at the fashion show mall food court, followed by mango and coconut sorbet... so good... both from the uhhh i forget what it's called, great wraps or something like that..
today we looked for chinatown, and yeah totally a let down. we found that veggie delight place for lunch and it was... terrible. the only thing we've had so far this trip that we both didn't like. we just got a few apps to share and couldn't finish anything. we were the only people there and they have no music or anything so the owners are like standing there watching you eat in silence, really awkward. the tofu "nuggets" was microwaved cubes of tofu in some kind of sauce. sauce wasn't bad but tofu was rubbery and mostly cold. dumplings were undercooked, lukewarm and very bland. spring rolls weren't horrible but not especially good. don't recommend this place at all luckily we found Ronald's Donuts afterwards which makes up for it, holy cow!!! we got a half dozen including 2 fancies for just over 5 bucks, not bad at all, and they are so freaking good! unbelievable. i'm trying real hard to resist eating like all of them right now lol. totally worth the bus ride down there

tonight we're going to see KA. wanted to see O but it's just too expensive, or Blue Man Group but we've seen it a couple times in toronto and have never seen a cirque show. the tix for tonight booth at the mall had a bit of a deal for KA so what the heck. show's at 9:30, hoping to hit up happy hour somewhere along the way before we go pick up our tickets and then we'll lurk around the MGM casino while we wait for the show. figure we'll get our 24 hour bus passes to get down there and then use them to hit fremont experience tomorrow. anything else worth checking out downtown?

we need to hit the pool at least once and we haven't been to the venetian yet i hope we can squeeze everything in but if not oh well gives us a reason to come back.

this hotel is amazing by the way. definately recommend it.

oh and hubby and i are both pleasantly surprised by a few things in vegas... the sidewalks are so CLEAN! for so many pedestrians around at all hours we didn't expect everything to be quite so clean. very nice. the people are so nice... we figured we'd have to dodge lots of drunk partying d-bags but we haven't really seen too many, most people seem to be like us, grab a couple drinks here and there but not really out to get hammered and act stupid. the strip has such a rep for hardcore partying that we expected to see a bit more... shenanigans lol. what else...

ah the only complaint really is the hordes of mexicans handing out advertisements for escorts. the card flickers. omg wow these guys are irritating.

so we did eat at Wazuzu. expensive meal but holy moly was it good, and the noodle and rice bowls are massive. we had leftovers to bring back to the room, made a nice snack when we got back from seeing KA (which was amazing!!)
we also did get enough red card points for free buffet passes at the Wynn. $40 each on saturday for dinner so we saved $80.. nice. and the buffet is just huge, and everything that is vegan is labelled which makes it really easy. (if it doesn't say vegan assume it's not even if it's just salad, i grabbed some salad and it had chunks of i dunno maybe chicken, i couldn't really tell but i noticed before i ate it so no biggy) there's even a couple desserts that are vegan, candy apples, chocolate chip pecan cookies (so good!) and strawberry gelato which was really nice. everything i tried was delish and there were so many choices i didn't get to try them all. the pasta station rocks! the chef working it at the time is awesome to watch.. and there's vegan ravioli! ravioli! it was fantastic.

we also got $70 of food comped off our total bill at checkout from using the red card, and were able to convert our points into slot credits. weeee! i'm guessing most of the big casinos have perks like this, we obviously chose to do most of our gambling at Wynn to take full advantage of the program which worked out well for us.

so we tried to hit the pool but the last couple days of the trip were a bit cool and really windy, not great pool days. we did lounge by the pool for a couple hours friday but we didn't go in. the buildings shade the pool area in the afternoon, we should have gone a bit earlier when there was direct sun, probably makes a difference.

Fremont is fantastic. it's like a whole different Vegas lol. more our style i think, if we were planning on drinking and partying it would be there for sure, not on the strip i don't think. for one the booze is waaaay cheaper, but also the street performers and just the general atmosphere is so much fun like a fair or something. hubby ended up part of a magic show lol i'll post it on youtube whenever i get everything uploaded and i'll post a link. the guy was pretty good

any future visitors that might read this: if you take the bus across the strip or to get downtown, wait for the express... when we got on the deuce we had to swipe our passes as we got on but on the express we didn't. people were going in the back doors and everything, driver is sealed off behind a door i guess for safety, so there's no way to swipe the pass, i guess they just assume you have one??? we had one the first time and realized nobody was checking for them so when it expired we didn't bother getting a new one.

BUT when we did take the deuce at night we had a blast. the driver was hysterical and it was like a big partybus, kinda made it worth the 7 bucks (for a 24hour pass)
