I don't really know any vegetarians and am curious if there are any here that live close to the cities. I am a resident of Burnsville.

For being the liberal bastion of the midwest, this is one heck of a dead subforum.

MPLS here, btw.

I live right across the river in Somerset, WI. I mainly shop and hang out in Minnesota and want to move to St. Paul within the next couple years.

I just moved here from Kansas City. I'm staying with some friends in Roseville for now, but after the winter I'm going to be looking for some new digs in NE Mpls.

I've barely begun to explore, but seems like a great place so far! I work downtown and Zen Box in the skyway is a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

Hey there, I work downtown as well! I didn't know the Zen Box has veg options? I haven't eaten there in a year or more (at which time I was an omni) I will have to check it out, thanks for the heads up, haha. What building do you work in? I work in the IDS!

From what I can tell they have 3 options - a curry, a gyoza (potstickers), and glazed tofu. I've only tried the gyoza so far because I've been unable to get myself to order anything else! The salad/dressing is really good, but I get steamed veggies instead (and they will put their amazing kamikaze sauce on the veggies if you ask). Their Miso soup is _not_ veg friendly - they use real dashi which has fish stock in it.

I work in the Dorsey building. I will have to report back with any further downtown findings!

Well the places that I usually go are: Macy's - they have a HUGE salad bar in the skyroom (12th floor) that you can get the biggest salad you want (or go back for seconds) for $9. Otherwise the Market Place at Macy's (in the basement) has a salad counter with some fancy (and delicious) toppings such as marinated portobello caps, grilled asparagus, grilled cauliflower w/onions etc that is awesome, just a little pricey and they charge by the pound so I don't get as big of a salad when I go there.

Then there is La Loma which is on the street level of the Northstar building. It's kind of tucked back in a hallway near the convenience store there but they have vegetarian Tamales and their beans are vegetarian as well (and their guac/salsa/chips)

There is a Thai place on the skyway level of the Northstar building, just down the short stairs from Zen Box, but their steamed veggies have butter in them so I won't be going there anymore

There is a few options for Indian - Bombay Express which has about 5-6 veg options each day and it's in the back of the 1st floor of Macy's - then there's Bombay Bistro South Indian that is in the Midwest Plaza and it's all vegetarian but it's sit down... and there is also another indian place in the Gaviidae Common that I would imagine has veg options.

Oh and D'Amico & Son's on Nicollette Mall (street level) usually has 3-4 deli type salads to choose from that are veg friendly as well.

That is all I can think of for now but those are the places I eat most often
