Another Veggie Fest again this year. August 7th and 8th in Naperville. Free admission. I'm sure more details will be shared soon.

I'm really hoping I can go. I wanted to go last year, but being a teen who doesn't drive and isn't friends with any other veg*ns who can, I can never really make it to these kinds of things. (Except VeganMania last year. I managed to drag my mom along. ^_^)

Naperville is about (Google Maps says) 47 minutes from me... Not too far.

Anyways, I wanna go, and I hope I can. Plus, it's 11 (Aug 7) and 10 (Aug 8) days before my birthday.

I was planning to attend this last year, but never got around to it. I think that I'll make it a goal this year though, because I'm very interested in what I've seen. What's great is that according to its website that it has a shuttle service from the Lisle Metra stop directly to Veggie Fest for only $3 each way. That's not bad at all. Makes me even more likely to want to go. I just leave from Union Station in Chicago and then get on the shuttle service in Lisle and I'm at Veggie Fest.

Yes! I thought I'd missed it this year. Isn't it usually in May, or am I just confusing that with Green Fest downtown?

Naperville is kinda close... about 30-40 minutes away from where I am. They even had a booth for raw desserts last year. Totally worth it.

Yeah, I definitely want to make an effort to go! It's at the same time as Northalsted Market Days in Chicago, so I have to figure out my schedule!

I got an email about it yesterday. I really want to go, but from the last time I posted, the person I wanted to bring with me will be unable, so now I probably won't be going.

Yes, I went with my husband and my sister. What a great time. We ate sooooo much. I brought home a boatload of literature and I got on so many mailing lists, i'm almost afraid. I definitely can't wait until next year and like 'PassThePeas', I'm going to try to go to the Vegan Fest in October.

I didn't end up going, I'm so bummed. I WILL make it next year, though. No matter what, I'll be there.
But, yeah, I hope I'll make it to Vegan Mania, again!

Veggie Fest 2011 is this weekend.

I've never been, but I'm going to try and make the trek out to Naperville Saturday, I think. Excited to check it out.

Anybody else going?

Ended up going on Sunday, and it was awesome. I was not expecting such a huge crowd. I'm sure a lot of people were there just because it was a free festival, but still. A much bigger deal than I was expecting.

There was a ton of great food. I got a crazy good vegan BBQ plate from Soul Vegetarian for lunch - BBQ tofu, greens, mac and cheese and corn bread. If I'm ever on the South Side, I will totally be checking them out.

Definitely going again next year.

Date's set for August 11th and 12th this year. Since it's still 7 months away it's possible it might change, but just sayin'.

It's not in Chicago. It's actually in Naperville. That's a pretty ritzy, upscale town. It's very safe. I go every year. We should have a meetup this year.
