Is anyone down for a meetup? I've got all of next week off and I'd like to meet some Chicago vegans!

I think things slow down in colder weather. There is a vegan meetup on the first Saturday of every month, just look for the group on meetup.com.

Ah, I guess that makes sense. I've been to the last two meetups and I plan on going to the next one!

Hey, SonicEarth... I'm Debra!

First, you were definitely missed at the vegan Korean buffet at Dragonlady Lounge last Thursday... it was wonderful!

Second, though it hasn't yet been announced (it will be soon), the January meetup has been posted, so you can rsvp now if you'd like. FYI, we'll be celebrating John's birthday afterward, and bowling (and other stuff) may be on the agenda again... hope you can join us!

Third, there's a woman in Evanston who, to help support herself and her daughter, serves vegan meals in her home every Tuesday night... she's been doing it for years, and I've been to a number of them. She's also a member of Vegan Chicago and has come to a few meetups. She's offering a holiday meal Tuesday, December 29th at 7:00 p.m. at a cost of $22.00. While I don't know what the entire menu will be, I do know she'll be serving vegan tamales and zucchini lasagna. There's always soup, hot tea, several side dishes, often homemade bread/spreads, and dessert at the end. It's not for the general public... you have to know her or someone she knows. I'm definitely going and, as space is quite limited, if you're interested in checking it out, you can contact me on the meetup site.

If I don't see you at the dinner, I look forward to seeing you again at the meetup!

I'm in Columbus, OH. If there's anything planned for Champaign or Southern IL I'd be game for a drive over.
