I hope to live in ID or WA soon! We're looking at the Spokane and Boise areas. Anyone have suggestions? I'm a software developer and my fiance is a dog trainer.

Well personally I don't like Boise, although I've been there probably about a dozen times and I grew up more around the Spokane area so maybe I'm more biased.

In the way of veg*n options I'm not sure which is really better, since I became a vegan after high school.

Where are you moving from?

I believe everything.

We're in Houston right now. We're really happy with our jobs, but the scenery and general lifestyle down here just is not for us. Her family is from WA/ID and I love what I have seen so far. Since we can't exactly go for weekend road trips to check out the neighborhoods, we're using online searches and forums to try to find the best places to live.

Any updates Soy 6-Pack?

How much have you seen of Washington and Idaho?

Western Washington (and down into Oregon) has a lot more options for vegans and vegetarians. Not as much luck in eastern Washington or Idaho. Although I can't speak for southern Idaho.

I believe everything.

I grew up in a small town north of Spokane and have lived in the Spokane/Coeur d'Alene area for the last 20 years, 11 of those in Coeur d'Alene.

If you are looking for scenery you should come to North Idaho, that and huckleberries.

So Soy 6-pack, do you work from your home (is that how you can consider moving without first getting a job)? Or are you going to have to look for jobs once you move? Are you interested in "big" cities or thinking rural is a possibility?
