Schools were closed today due to storm damage. SO many people in surrounding counties without power, some badly flooded creeks and LOTS of fallen trees.

Don't let your guard down yet - everyone keep an eye on Katia: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

Too early to tell if it'll hit the east coast, or exactly where or when, but they're expecting it to be a major hurricane in 5 days in the Atlantic. It would hit the east coast maybe another 3-7 days after that, depending on the exact speed and location, if it hits at all. And like Irene, it's more likely hit along the northern coast than down here in Florida, though this far out, anything's still possible, including a u-turn that misses land altogether, which would obviously be the best case scenario.

Goddamnit I'm sick of this crazy dangerous weather. Winter better be somewhat sane!

...and this climate zone is officially called "temperate".

HAH.

NOT!

(...do people still say "not"? I haven't heard it for some time.)

Peasant (1963-1972) and Fluffy (1970s?-1982- I think of you as 'Ambrose' now)- Your spirits outshone some humans I have known. Be happy forever.

The word "temperate" only applies to temperature, not how wild the weather is.

As for "not", I think Borat finally nailed the coffin closed on that one.

I think Ive cut that last tree off of cars, houses etc... Im done.
Got power back at the house today, now I can focus on getting the tree mess cleaned up in my yard. I did have someone ask me to pull a tree down their street to clear their driveway, so I went on over, when I got there I discovered the tree had power lines wrapped up in it, and there was caution tape around the yard where the lines were laying in.. I declined that one.

I picked up help this time around, I would help get the tree off the house or car, but when we were done they had to come with me to help the next one.. I call it Trickle Down Assistance... LOL, It worked.
every muscle in my body is screaming right now. Hope the next store holds off long enough to recover.
