What are some decent vegan biscuits to get? This (and crisps) has been the biggest thing holding me back from going vegan, dunno why when I managed to dump meat in a week...

Doves Farm make some really nice biscuits (http://www.dovesfarm.co.uk/index.html) - the lemon zest ones are loooooooooovely. Up here we get them in a lot of shops.

Aren't bourbon creams vegan?

I'm not much of a biscuit man . . .

plain (the original) hob nobs are vegan

many supermarket own brand biscuits are vegan, such as asda's "nice biscuits"

If you surf the net, you might find some more!

otherwise, you can bake your own.

Crisps are quite easy to find too, most ready salted flavour crisps are vegan.

Also, kettle crisps label which of there crisp are vegan and they are gorgeous!

Good Luck!!

Be careful - all of the ones I've seen have either gelatine or cochineal.. Can anyone recommend a brand?

oh yeah, I would pay good money for vegan jaffa cakes. but nobody seems to get ambitious and do cakey things free from eggs in the 'free from' brands

Yea, i'm still holding out for vegan jaffa cakes. I saw some free from ones and did a little happy dance up and down the aisle and then saw they were just free from wheat not milk or egg and i cried. I literally burst into tears in waitrose.

I make a wonderful chocolate orange cake...but it ain't the same.

I have McVitie's digestives or own-brand bourbons (some have milk in, be careful). I will pledge my eternal soul to someone who comes up with vegan custard creams... or a VBer who points me in the direction of vegan custard creams

You can get free from custard creams that are vegan, Sainsburys used to do them. You can get free from choc chip cookies in nearly all the major supermarkets. Lidls dark chocolate dijestives are vegan. as are sainsburys gingernuts and bourbon creams.

Same here! I saw a Free From box of chocolates, I think there were 12 chocolates for like £3.99. Ridiculous.

I saw these in Sainsbury's, they were definitely vegan, but still not worth the cost.
