Fishtank is just down the road from where I live, but I've never actually been in. I've heard good things about it though...
Maybe it's time you made a change in your life. Fishtank! I really wanna go to their New Years thing, an dI normally say in on New Years. Not that I'm likely to make it up to Durham, though.
I won't be able to make that either, I'll probably be with my family in Lincolnshire...
I'm in London when I'm in the UK
It's a reasonably new student society, roughly three years old now. If you send me your email address in a PM, I'll put you on the mailing list
Alternatively, some of us are probably going to meet at the Jumping Bean on Wednesday afternoon, you're welcome to join us. I'm probably going to put some posters up in there, too.
Also, it doesn't matter if you're not a student at the university (as far as I'm concerned, anyway).
I'm moving to Kent in a few months for work, so I might bug you about good places to eat/shop when that happens
I'm probably moving to relatively near your area in a couple of months when I graduate from university - what's it like being a veggie in your neck of the woods?
Technically this is hello again. I said hello here about six years ago and then promptly disappeared. I'll give it another try, though.
My name is Ryan. I am currently working and living (mostly working) in Manchester.
I've been a vegetarian since 1998 and vegan since 2005. I cannot recall the dates I turned so I don't know when to celebrate my vegan anniversary.
I think I am technically known as a vegweb refugee. I used to love that place but all the talkative people disappeared during the virus purges.
So I find myself looking for an online veggie community replacement - without having to rely on Facebook.
Hello and hopefully I will get past 6 posts this time.
Hello Ryan :)
Welcome back ~ one post down, six more to go in order to beat your record
I've just been browsing through the forums. There's a great feel to this site (looks good, anyway).
I do miss the golden days of vegweb with the random kitchen sink style posts like open letters. But that's the last time I'll mention vegweb on here.
Oh I think your post qualifies for the overall challenge :-D
I wasn't around in the days of Vegweb, I only moved to vegetarian and then vegan this year. Prior to that I (technically) formed part of the "Mmmmm, bacon" gang :)
Most animal rescue centres would probably jump at the chance to have a volunteer. I don't know if the volunteering leads to paid work often but I bet your local centre would love you to contact them.
