I've been vegan for two months. I was vegetarian for a year before that and "pescetarian" for about 13 or 14 years before that. I can't believe I never made the switch earlier.

I guess you could say I've either been vegan for "6 years on and off" or "4 years"

I was a vegetarian for 6 years prior to vegan. I became vegan at 17 and am now 23, the only times I didn't adhere to this lifestyle (primarily the eating habits) was during my two pregnancies. Pregnancies last about 10 months, so 20 months of the 6 years I wasn't vegan. So that's about 4 years lol

Wow, everyone has been a vegan for so long, it's intimidating. I have only been a vegan for 5 months, but I suppose everyone has to start somewhere. I was a vegetarian for 10 months before I became vegan. Congrats to everyone that has been vegan for so long, that's amazing and quite inspiring!

Only a couple of months this time around. I tried it once before for about a year. I went vegetarian about 15 or 126 years ago.

52 days as of today. Before that I was 98% vegan for a couple of months.

I've been vegetarian for almost 2 years.

vegan- 3 months, vegetarian- 1 month prior to becoming vegan

Prior to being Vegetarian-about 1 month pescetarian

Not long enough. I wish I had been born vegan. All those wasted years and dead and exploited animals due to my ignorance and/or indifference.

Sigh.

But regrets never serve much purpose.

(Real answer: Probably about three years. I can't remember exactly. Am terrible with dates.)

I went veggie about 10 months ago. Been vegan for...almost a month! Woooo. Haha. I've had my fair share of slip ups, but I have such a guilty conscience that anytime I am thinking about making myself a nonfat latte at work (I hate our new soy...btw I work for sbux) or eating a piece of cheese I just feel horrible, so I can't do it. But I love calling myself a vegan! Mainly because people are like, oooooh whats that?

I have sadly only been vegan 8 months, vegetarian 3 months prior to that. I cannot believe that it took me so long. It feels so right now, and I am sure that I will be vegan as long as I live.

Sadly? You've done very well!! I cannot believe that it took me so long as well. I think I'll be vegan until the day I die.

I am glad that I am vegan now off course But I should have become vegan sooner. I was the kind of person that would take flies and wasps outside and forbid killing them, and then go and eat chicken

I was born into a very foreign, meat-eating lifestyle, but I started an on and off relationship with meat when I was about 14. As of today, I haven't eaten red meat for a year and a couple months and I've been completely vegetarian 10 months now. My family constantly pressures me to eat meat though, and I wanted to take it seriously at 14 but they refused to allow me and took so much authority over my eating habits until one day I simply told them they would have to live with it. I feel better than ever now though.
