Interesting article I found this morning on

Is honey the dairy of the insect world?

There's never been a better time to be a half-assed vegetarian. Five years ago, the American Dialect Society honored the word flexitarian for its utility in describing a growing demographicthe "vegetarian who occasionally eats meat." Now there's evidence that going flexi is good for the environment and good for your health.

That is interesting.

I don't see why there's such a debate still, though.

All the vegans I know/talk to agree that honey isn't vegan. I've yet to talk to a vegan that says honey truly is vegan.

"13% of U.S. adults are "semivegetarian," meaning they eat meat with fewer than half of all their meals. In comparison, true vegetarians—those who never, ever consume animal flesh—compose just 1%."

Wow.. I thought about 10% of the U.S. was actually vegetarian...

The last three paragraphs are the most thoughtful. But this article is the same old debate that we've had here many times.

Really? I didn't know there was any debate about honey. Now, what I'd really like to see for a change is people debating about the ALF, or whether veg*ns should buy meat for omnis, or whether vegans are just too damn mean and self-righteous!
