Wow. I made some pasta with tomato sauce today and decided to mix some hummus in. It was really yummy! It had kind of a creamy, alfredo-like taste. Plus, the garlic in the hummus complimented the spices in the sauce really well. I will be doing this more in the future! ^_^

That does sound good.

I've done similar where I mix refried beans into the pasta sauce and it was excellent. Hummus sounds like it would give it a great texture and alternative flavor. I'll have to try it.

rachael ray actually made a meal like this on 30 Minute Meals, except there was no tomato sauce, it was baba ganoush (sp?) and hummus mixed together with the pasta.

It looked pretty tasty :P and i was happy to see big Ray making some more vegetarian meals. During the episode she also mentioned the viewers had wanted her to start making more vegetarian meals, and she said she would be more than happy to oblige.

Mmmm, tomato sauce with garlic hummus sounds awesome! So simple, yet I'm sure it is very tasty. I will definitely be making that one Thanks for sharing!

I had some penne with baba ganouj topped with a sprinkle of parsley and pine nuts. It was decent, but I blame the fact that I don't like pine nuts nor parsley. However, it was a great start and have learned that hummus is a great sauce.

Kind of reminded me of pasta alfredo so I was going to try to mimic that with a plain hummus next time I'm feeling adventurous.

I really have to try it with tomato sauce though, kind of sounds like a rosé sauce. Was it primarily tomato sauce or hummus?

It was probably about 50/50.

I really like red lentil "hummus" in my pasta too.

I actually put beans and lentils in my pasta all the time. It is good.

Sounds good. I'm going to have to try it. I always put chickpeas, onions, garlice, and veggies in pasta anyways so it makes sense that it would be yummy with hummus.

I think I'm going to try this... I have some crappy garlic hummus that my boyfriend bought and I guess I could try and hide in in tomato sauce!

I do this too, but with pizza sauce. About 3/5 tomato sauce, 2/5 hummus, then add in some garam masala mix.

I'll have to try it on pasta. I'm sick of straight up marinara sauce.

I had this AGAIN for dinner last night. seriously delicious.

The greatest thing is it requires zero effort (I used jarred pasta sauce and Tribe hummus) and yet it still comes out sooo yummy. I am a big fan of homemade sauces normally, but I could get used to this as a shortcut on lazy days.
