I know that a lot of them do animal testing so I avoid any that do, but are there animal products in hair dye?

I've really never read the back of a hair dye box to be honest. I usually just buy what I know is vegan/non-animal tested to save time. Manic Panic is one of the only dyes I've seen that clearly states they don't contain animal products and don't test, so I assume there is something in regular dye that is animal related, besides the testing.

I've been doing some experimenting with henna but I've been largely unsuccessful. I buy the henna powder and then add things like lemon juice or coffee to them.

This website has a section about using henna on hair.

I just used lemon juice from what I read on the henna site I got my stuff from says not to use coffee use lemon juice and if you want herbal tea with lemon juice. I let mine sit for 10 hours to mix and then left it on my hair for almost 5 hours and it worked great.

I mostly use henna for tattoos, and I did mean tea. I hadn't had my first cup yet.

I wanted to test the tattoos out so I bought some that is pre-mixed for tattoos off of e-bay. I have a real tattoo gun but I SUCK at the moment so I am trying to get better before I do any work on people other than myself and my brother.
