Good Day All.......I found veggieboards 6 weeks ago, and thus began my journey.

6 weeks ago went veggie, 4 weeks ago, took the vegan challenge, this is my 31 day celebration........I'm so psyched!!!!

I am down 19 pounds from 6 weeks ago, and aside from a few emotional issues, am feeling fantastic...sleeping 3x more than I ever did before. I've kept the food pretty bland and basic, as to not get overwhelmed, but am now ready to start actually cooking, and spicing it up a bit.

Just wanted to say thank you to veggieboards, who inspired me, and to everyone here who was kind and helpful in answering my posts.....A Great change has taken place.

Thank you all

Congratulations!! August 4 was my 1-month vegan anniversary. I didn't drop 19 pounds but I did lose 2 pesky inches off my hips...couldn't get rid of those with aerobics 4x a week while I was still eating meat!!

Congratulations! Be proud of yourself! My mom always told me it takes 3 weeks to make or break a habit. So after going 30 days...you are doing fantastic! Keep up the great work.

Wow congrats! Do you plan on staying vegan forever? Or is this a phase?

Hi DM,

I plan on making this a lifestyle. The last month was of course, more about what I put in my mouth, the rest of my life will be learning, learning, putting into practice what I learn, and educating others.....

As of right now, I have NO plans to go back to my omni ways.

My choosing to do this has caused so much tension with my 'housemates', it's as if they are pi**ed because I'm not eating meat anymore, no glass of milk with every meal, etc. It's come down to me eating alone, and them having to fix their own, and my daughter eating with whom she choses.

That saddens me, but they just haven't learned to be respectful enough when I'm eating at the table with them,(also, I am an Aries, and tend to fly off the handle very easily!!!!)

I was soooo caught up in the 'sugar, salt, greasy, processed' trap, and am now finding I quite enjoy the flavor of the food itself, without all that crap, i think I'm hooked, and have no plans to quit.

NowVoyager: Congratulations! I hope your family will come around and join you again at the table soon. You'll probably need to reassure them that you're not going to force your food down their throats.
