Trying to Go Vegan, but My Body is Consumed by Boils

I am trying to go vegan (it has been a month), but my body is starting to break out in painful boils. This happens on my waist, face, and shoulders, among other places. I am doing just about full vegan.

That has nothing to do with avoiding animal products. See a doctor.

I doesn't seem to do it when I add them back is my point. I guess I get less sugar? I been to the doc and nothing notable stands out.

Hi thecheez18,

The American Academy of Dermatology, based on all currently-available data, has stated that acne may be worsened by (1) high glycemic foods and (2) dairy foods: https://www.aad.org/practicecenter/q...f-diet-in-acne .

From Harvard Medical School, here is a table of the glycemic loads of various foods: https://www.health.harvard.edu/disea...-for-100-foods

Referencing the Harvard webpage, high glycemic-load foods include soda, sugar-added juice drinks, and highly-processed grain foods (white rice, white pasta, corn flakes). Low glycemic-load foods include beans, whole grains, fruit and vegetables - these low glycemic foods are the staple foods recommended by mainstream vegan organizations: https://www.vegansociety.com/resourc...ition-overview

Please see an allergist or dermatologist regarding your acne symptoms.

Specific recommendations for a healthy diet include: eating more fruit, vegetables, legumes, nuts and grains; cutting down on salt, sugar and fats. It is also advisable to choose unsaturated fats, instead of saturated fats and towards the elimination of trans-fatty acids."
