Yaoh lip balm contains comfery?

I bought a tube of Yaoh mango lip balm from a health food shop today because it's vegan and looked pretty good. However, upon looking at the ingredients, I noticed it contains comfrey? Loads of websites say if you use comfrey on your skin, or ingest it, for a long period of time, it can lead to liver failure and/or death. That's pretty dangerous to put in a lip balm which people are not only going to use a lot, but inevitably ingest small amounts of. I personally have to wear lip balm 24/7 in order to prevent chapping.

I am so glad I already knew comfrey is bad news before I started wearing the lip balm on a regular basis.

In the United States, our Food and Drug Administration has requested that comfrey be removed from herbal / medicinal products: http://www.fda.gov/Food/RecallsOutbr.../ucm111219.htm . Please ask your health food shop not to carry this lip balm. Show them the FDA document for support.

I have emailed Yaoh, and advised them to remove comfrey from their lip balm.

Will do!

I can't believe they'd even stock something so dangerous. I'm going to take the lip balm back.
