Vegan Christmas Meetup Activities Suggestions :) please help

Hey everybody!

I'm organizing Vegan Christmas Meetup in my city and I would like to ask for your help!

Have you ever attended a vegan meetup yourself? If so could you please share what kind of activities you engaged in during the meetup? What did you like about it? What you didn't like?

During this meetup our goal is to raise money for the local animal shelters, there will be lots of delicious food to enjoy of course, but I would like people to have quite a good time as well, what are some other fun things to do besides eating?

My ideas: sharing the experience/cooking/baking/watching vegan documentaries..

ANY suggestions are very welcome.

By the way this is my first time organizing/attending a vegan event.

For the holidays a vegan cookie exchange is a lot of fun. Each person bring 1 dozen cookies and a container. Everyone can take one from the others piles of cookies until they have 12. It's nice to do this somewhere with coffee and tea so some cookies can be enjoyed immediately with a drink.

Personally, I try to avoid making events tied to any specific religion. So I would not host a "Christmas" event, but I have done many "Holiday" or "Seasonal" events.

I'm not a festive type of gal, at least not for the "traditional" holidays... but I thought this was hilarious!!

Oooh, maybe your tree could look like a giant piece of broccoli!! LOL

And what about a couple vegetable-shaped piñatas??

I shudder at the thought. Clowns are creepy, as I'm sure many agree.... and balloons!! Ughhh.... I worked many years at a costume shop that also did balloons for every occasion.... you have enough of those suckers explode in your face, you might tend to have quite an aversion to them, to say the least. LOL
