Depends. If I'm just eating bananas for breakfast then I'll eat 9 or 10 of them. If I just want a snack then I eat 3 or 4.

Life sucks without laughter so do that more often.

I would eat at least one or two a day if I always had them.

2 with breakfast daily, 1 or two as a snack during the day, and often a few as late-night snacks. i've never met a banana I didn't like.

This amazes me. More than one makes me kinda quesy.
I can lots of stone fruit, grapes, berries, melon, eat pineapple until my mouth is raw, but not bananas

Do bananas have any relation to avocados? Avocados makes me puke

A few per week, maybe more or less depending on the week.

Where so you guys get your bananas? I try to buy them organic but find that the only varieties available around here (even labeled organic and even at the Whole Foods Coop in my town) are owned by Dole, Chiquita, or Del Monte. Ditto for many other tropical types of fruits like pineapple or mangoes. It is something I wrestle with my conscience. I LOVE tropical fruit but due to all the problems, especially with the banana trade and lack of fair labor standards, I try not to buy them too often. I have not seen any fair trade labels around here on these fruits. I live in a northern climate and bananas simply aren't grown here, though a few people have attempted it. This is something I really need to take more time to research.

Love em but so does everyone else in the house so sometimes they don't last - usually 2 a day though.

I usually just buy bananas at the grocery store and don't really look at the labels because i love them too much and can't afford to be organic about it right now. I try to buy multiple kinds of bananas to promote banana biodiversity since the yellow kind is going to go extinct if we don't though.

I don't eat them all the time, but I love having one with breakfast. I can't just sit and eat more than one in a sitting. Same with apples. Smaller fruits like berries and grapes I can eat a bunch though.

Once in a while I will eat one greenish banana a day and if they get ripe I bake bananacake. I hate ripe bananas.

Nothing tastes as good as compassion feels.

I suspect it's the rather shmooshy texture that makes you gag. (When I can't eat something without feeling like gagging it always comes down to the texture. Except of course, flesh and other things, the mere thought of which is nauseating.)l

I can't stand fully ripe bananas - I use them for baking, or feed them to the chickens.

I like bananas a lot, but I don't like avocado. I've tried it twice (once by itself, and once on toast), and I just can't get myself to like it. I don't mind a little bit in a wrap mixed with other things, though.

I usually can't eat more than half in one sitting. Not sure why.

A coworker told me that his doctor told him to only eat half at a time because your body can only absorb the amount of nutrients in half a banana...anyone else hear that? Works for me...I'll eat half in the morning and the other half as an afternoon snack.

1/2 banana, same reason as Karen. I love the little bananas that grow here in Florida. I can eat a whole one of those.

1/2 a banana? What do you do, freeze the other half? Do you just eat it at home?
I don't think I'd bother with half.
Bananas never struck me as any more nutritious than anything else
I like to dip them in cereal when I'm out of milk

I guess it's, what, potassium that bananas are good for? If I eat half with breakfast I'll usually eat the other half later in the day or the very latest, the next day. It's stays ok in the skin.

Funny about potassium. I've always been told "bananas and potatoes...", over and over....
Bananas have about 422 a medium one, and potatoes come in close to 900, but, cooked black beans have over 1000 per 1/2 cup!
I've known two people taken in ambulances from low potassium. Always found that interesting because you need over 4000mg. The canned beans don't even list it (that i've found)

Oranges have a lot of K+, I think.

Too lazy to google. Too lazy to cook.

On average, about 3-5 a day. I only eat one or two whole (maybe none), but I use them a lot in smoothies or make them into "ice cream". Being bananas are about 100 calories each, I would never want to eat 10 or something a day. They are nutritious, but I like an assortment of fruits and veg every day (as a mostly raw vegan, it's especially important so I get a full range of nutrients) and don't want to consume half my daily caloric needs in just one food.

I only eat a banana after a 5K run. Its what helps me keep up my speed in the last kilometer, thinking "Banana!"
So 167 bananas this year.

Bananas are dead center average for potassium content. All veggies that arent really watery are fair sources, plants use it to balance water pressure across cell membranes so its pretty universal. Nutritionally bananas are like a low protein potato, really.
