You’d be hard-pressed to find a vegan who doesn’t own at least one of Isa Chandra Moskowitz’s cookbooks. Her first, Vegan with a Vengeance: Over 150 Delicious, Cheap, Animal-Free Recipes That Rock, came out 10 years ago, and since then, she’s written seven more. Her third book, Veganomicon!, is known by many as the vegan bible, and her blog, The Post Punk Kitchen, has been a resource for both novice and experienced cooks since 2003.

Many years ago, theppk and its food and support helped me transition myself, son, and husband to veganism. Isa's books are funny, well-written, and all the recipes delicious. I'm very grateful. Especially for the cupcakes.

Isa and I have somewhat similar backgrounds in musical & cultural influences. She posted a list of the 5 cookbooks that most influenced her growing up, and "Soy Not Oi!" made the cut. That book was originally sold through ads in punk zines like MRR in the 80s/90s. She was part of the scene and supported groups like Food Not Bombs. Another punk does good.

Definitely! I love to pull out her cook books whenever I'll be cooking for non-vegans that I want to make a good impression on. I recently received "Isa Does It" as a gift. The korean bbq portobello burger and the potato salad are amazing.

I'm sorry, my ears are plugged. Did you say, Purp, please come over and help yourself to my cookbooks?

Anytime I think I'm perfect, I remember that my cousin lives on an island, and I've never walked over to visit her.
