Ben & Jerry's to release dairy-free ice cream in the US and UK next year!

Happiest news ever: http://metro.co.uk/2015/06/09/ben-je...cream-5236940/

I hope they do a vegan version of Cherry Garcia and Creme Brulee. [emoji7]

Yay!

shellie 06-10-2015 06:52 AM

Can't wait!

LedBoots 06-10-2015 08:05 AM

Oh yum.

Vegan Phish Food . . . *drools just imaging it* Like that would ever happen. . .

LuciBow 06-10-2015 10:40 AM

This is so awesome! :3

Yesss!

This is a HUGE sign that we're all doing something right! When you vote with your dollars and use your power as a consumer companies take notice. Change doesn't happen overnight but progress really is happening, plant based foods are becoming more and more popular and I love it!

Now I'm just wondering how long it will take for the new vegan Ben & Jerry's to come to Canada, I want to try it too!

This makes me nearly as happy as Hampton Creek adding Just Ranch to their product line. I mean I can have all these delicious things? I think we are so spoiled to have the choices we do today 😃

I am very excited for this! I hope they have some good flavors.

You can actually already buy a vegan version of Cherry Garcia. Trader Joe's "Soy Creamy Cherry Chocolate Chip" ice cream is vegan, and tastes just like Cherry Garcia.

I'm surprised that it took so long for Ben & Jerry's to make vegan ice cream. Ben Cohen had bypass surgery in 2001, yet Ben & Jerry's continued to make dairy ice cream, with all its saturated fat.

Very great news!

Thanks for the suggestion! Coconut Bliss' cherry amaretto flavour is pretty close, too, minus the chocolate.

Vidal Pierre 06-11-2015 02:01 PM

Thank you Ben & Jerry!!

ShadowTears 06-11-2015 03:46 PM

Sweet! I don't think I've ever had their ice cream, but now maybe I'll get to try some! :D

rasitha.wijesekera 06-15-2015 07:33 PM

It's not coming next year though. Also it's going to be far less popular than what we would Ike it to be( I dearly hope I'm wrong)

Gmountain 06-15-2015 07:40 PM

I interviewed for a job with Ben and Jerry's once. I showed up in a suit, and they were all wearing shorts and cow t-shirts. Not a good fit. They gave me four pints of ice cream as a parting gift when I left.

When I lived in Vermont, we were able to buy Ben and Jerry's factory seconds for about $1 a pint. It was ice cream that was too dense, or had to much stuff like cookies or fruit added. Best deal ever.

That's really good news. I hope I'll be able to try some when it finally comes out.

Hope_For_Arbuckle 07-04-2015 12:08 PM

I heard about this! Nom nom can't wait..though I should probably start trying to lose the few pounds I'll gain when it comes out :D

ngemini 02-28-2016 11:27 AM

Man I really want to try this but they aren't in my state yet. The Actual ice cream is but not the vegan kind .-.

silva 02-28-2016 11:52 AM

I found these last week at my Target-they were mixed with the dairy ice creams and didn't even have tags on the shelves! I got the coffee caramel chocolate chunk-my favorite and did not disappoint! I got the chunky monkey for my son-banana ice cream w walnuts and I think chocolate chunks. He liked it- I'm not a fan of the flavor, so me, not so much, but as far as texture I liked both.
I went back the other day and nothing! Just the dairy ones, so it was either a mistake, a test?
I wanted to try the chocolate brownie.

I will be back for more coffee caramel with chocolate chunks so good I want them by themselves

I wish TJ's soy ice creamy came in pints!
I remember the cherry chocolate being too chunky for my tastes, or something. The vanilla I don't care for by itself, but great on desserts

I wish Baskin and Robbins would get on the bandwagon! I think John and Ocean Robbins are toooo healthy for any kind of ice cream now! And good for them!

Nooch 02-28-2016 01:02 PM

I used to love oatmeal cookie chunk, then it disappeared. If they bring it back in vegan form all the omnis will come running!

Poppy 02-29-2016 12:05 PM

I have the chocolate fudge, the chunky monkey and the coffee caramel in the fridge right now. They are each wonderful, although the coffee caramel chocolate chunk is incredible and by far my favorite. I have not had the peanut butter flavor ye, though, an dI'm looking forward to trying it someday.
