Vegan and on low oxalate diet for health reasons. Feel I'm getting inadequate nutriti

I went vegan about 4 weeks ago, there is no way I could ever eat another animal product again and it is something which I am enjoying and finding easy. I have recently cured my fibromyalgia (the most horrendously painful condition which literally disabled me) through a low oxalate diet. Oxalates are found in a huge range of plants, grains and beans etc. - basically everything vegans get proteins and nutrients from!! I feel I am finding it hard to get adequate nutrition as the list of foods I can eat is so slim and I am new to being vegan. Has anyone got any experience with being vegan on a low oxalate diet? I'm debating just taking amino acid supplements to make sure I'm repairing and maintaining my muscles/tissues!!

Hi and welcome. I am not familiar with low oxylate diets, but I am very glad it has helped your fibromyalgia. I found this link with a bunch of info.

Thank you for this link, I will have a look now! I stumbled across an article online written by a GP who had cured her fibromyalgia using a low oxalate diet. My symptoms had been so much worse since going vegan and I couldn't work out why, turns out it was all the beans, pulses, nuts and seeds i was eating!
Thanks again for the link  xx
