I bought two beautiful pairs of boots a few months before going vegan. I adored them and spent far more than my usual $20 limit on shoes. I haven't worn them in all this time because one is leather and the other suede. I would put a pair on, think wistfully about wearing it, then feel revolted that dead cow skin was on my legs. I know this is all very superficial but they are nice boots and I paid for them. I wanted to believe I'd wear them someday but finally decided to give then away. As I was packing them up, the silver glitter of words caught my eye from the inside of one boot listing the materials. They are vegan! I looked at the other pair. All man made materials. So one pair is definitely vegan and the other might have animals in the glue, but might not. Neither has any actual leather though. What a happy world where people inadvertently but vegan leather shoes.
Anyway I have to share this excitement with ya'll so that I don't tell it to my omni friends tonight when we go out. They hate when I bring up this stuff.
