West hollywood has outlawed trading and selling fur, wool, and other skins/pelts. This includes online sales going out. Pretty cool.

Great news!! (I didn't know anyone still wore fur or pelts...Hmmm...*ponders*)

Anytime I think I'm perfect, I remember that my cousin lives on an island, and I've never walked over to visit her.

Fur is still quite popular where I am. And wool is outlawed as well, which people still wear a lot here. I'm not sure if the ban extends to leather.

United States, middle of the east coast. I wouldn't say a large number of people wear fur simply because of it's cost, but people do and I think almost no one is opposed to it. I know several people with fur lined hats or gloves. Small things that aren't too expensive.

Edit: I also don't know anyone who thinks wool is bad. I tried to explain to some people and they were entirely unreceptive.

On the next really cold day, when you see someone wearing wool, say, "Some poor naked sheep or lamb must be freezing right now."
