Did anyone catch the first episode of the new TV show Hannibal?
It's based on the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris. He also wrote Silence of the Lambs, etc. whose famous antagonist was Hannibal Lecter. I thought I'd check it out as I love crime shows which involve the psychology of the criminal.
The cinematics of the show is really unique and adds to the mystery and gore of the show. I actually was surprised what graphic gore they managed to put on TV during the 10pm time slot.
In several scenes, Dr. Lecter was cutting "organs" up for "culinary purposes." Obviously the show wanted the viewers to believe that the organs were "human" organs.
For me, I would have been equally appalled if they were animal organs....and they probably were. Death is death. Carnism is carnism.
Just curious if anyone else watched and what you thought....

When I saw the one Hannibal as a child, when his trauma begins, I was a new veg'n.
The irony of the extent of horror for eating one animal, and the brevity given to killing and eating others was not lost on me. It was totally lost on all the other people I tried to point that out to.
