My Dad is visiting from out of state this weekend. I see him once a year so it is a special time for me. I went out to eat for the third or fourth time this year and had an awesome dinner!

B: oatmeal, banana, strawberries

L: (made this especially for my Dad): homemade macaroni salad with chickpeas, celery, green onion, black pepper, and Just Mayo; fresh blueberries and strawberries; fresh tomato slices; and my own homemade chickpea/sweet potato/peanut butter protein bars

D: At the Duluuth Grill: all raw vegan "living nutty tacos" with walnut "meat", fresh raw veggies, romaine lettuce wrap, house made guacamole, cashew cream cheese, dehydrated flax crackers. Lots of water on the side.

I literally cleaned the plate of everything lol. I almost NEVER finish a plate of food when I eat out. I told the waitress to consider this a huge compliment.

In the end, only kindness matters. - Jewel

B: Kale-berry-banana smoothie! I can't seem to go a day without it.

Post Workout Snack: 1/2 cup overnight oats with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a tsp of maple syrup. Since I've started trying to eat more to fuel my muscle growth, I find that oats prepared in this way are such a convenient way to refuel after weight lifting.

L: One huge sweet potato, cut into fries, dusted with cinnamon, and baked, with a serving of black beans.

Snack #2: Synder's Unsalted Mini Pretzels and 1/4 cup of raisins

D: A pita pocket stuffed with kidney beans, Newman's Own Mild Chunky Salsa, and 1/4 of a cubed avocado (perfectly ripe). I also had an ear of sweet corn. Mmm! Something about this meal really just hit the spot.

Frozen banana "nice cream" with chocolate syrup

Strawberry soy yogurt

Roasted vegetable soup

Butternut squash soup with roasted corn

Lentil vegetable soup and spicy mashed sweet potatoes with tahini

Mint chocolate chip Coconut Bliss brand ice cream

Green tea with ginger and lemon

Black tea with cloves, cinnamon, and orange slices

I'm so sick of soft foods! I'm still recovering from my wisdom tooth extraction. I didn't rest the first few days like I should have because the pain killers made me feel great, and now I'm paying for it. Ugh.

It is! It tastes heavenly! Good for sweet cravings. Just blend dates in water. Super simple. Some people add coconut sugar or a banana or 2.

Grapefruit

Green tea with rose petals

Iced Americano

Ginkgo leaf tea, which is supposed to improve memory/brain function

Today was insanely busy, and somehow this wound up being all I ate. I think the combination of heat and stress kept me from realizing how hungry I was getting, but now it's time for bed, and I'm ravenous.
