This was a good week for diet and exercise. I'm doing "essentially" vegan + no oil + no nuts or seeds (i.e. the Ornish Spectrum heart disease reversal diet).

 
My cold got mostly better, so I was able to go cycling every day. I also continued my resistance training and indoor calisthenics.
 
And I lost 1.2 kg (2.6 lb) for the week, bringing my total loss after 14 weeks to 18.8 kg (41.4 lb). My major milestone for the week was losing more than 40 lb!

Yes, it helps. The nice thing about this way of eating is that if you eliminate animal products + added oils + nuts and seeds it's all but impossible to eat too many calories. So you lose weight. But it's satisfying and there is plenty to eat. I definitely don't feel deprived.

 

The only thing I am disappointed about is that this diet has had no positive impact at all on my cholesterol levels. In fact, my LDL went slightly up and my HDL slightly down since starting the diet.

 

But I see no reason to change, since overall I'm much healthier.
