A real timekiller for folks interested in the history of veganism ...

The Vegan Society has posted scans of issues of The Vegan, published quarterly since 1945, online. A scan of Vegan News #1 from 1944 is also up.

Great find! Should be interesting to have a look at the editions from the 1940s (when I get the time ...).

awesome...great read for when I have the time.

Oh wow, that's really interesting! Vegans in the 1940's seemed concerned with the same issues and surprisingly similar to vegans today.

I love Donald Watson's sense of humor, and the fact he was a clean living vegan like me. He was a role model for certain. I think he'd be pleased at how much more widespread veganism has become since his death, even though it wasn't long ago.

You can obtain back copies of The Vegan, from The Vegan Society, just not sure how many decades the available back copies go back to though.

wow thanks so much- just started flicking through a 2011 mag and found an article on a sort of veg cohousing project being set up at Lancaster- where I am at uni!
Really fascinating.

They should make a .rar of it and put it on the P2P networks, beginning with torrent, rapidshare & co.

Thanks for the link. I wish they had better prints of the older articles or at least corresponding texts. Some are difficult to read.
