I use about 4 T. water, 1/2 teasp. liquid smoke, 1 teasp. maple or agave syrup and simmer till liquid is absorbed and tofu is just golden. With onion, peppers and mushrooms if I have them.
Or just brown it in a little EB and salt and pepper and veggies.
Sometimes I like to thin slice it, saute in EB with a dusting of powder sugar.
