Since becoming vegan I'm experiencing more flatulence than usual; this is probably because of all the plant-based foods I'm eating (like beans, broccoli, etc.)
Is this normal, and/or healthy? Is there any way I can reduce the gas buildup??
Sorry for being so informative; but it's really bothering me...

It happened to me. I was farting nonstop lol. I lasted like 2 weeks, then went away

I have been told that when this happens it is because the bowel 'flora'n'fauna' have not yet adjusted to a diet higher in complex carbs.

Had it bad at first. it went away and then making my own beans killed me. I had an entire can of beans last night, but rinsed them really good and had no problems. you have to rinse beens.

Farting is just part of veggie life!

I read a question years ago in a forum that said "why do vegetarian farts smell like the apocalypse". LOL
Be weary of Beano if it is in your country...it contains shellfish!

During my first few weeks as a vegan I had pretty bad stomachaches and gas. Then it went away.

I've been vegan for a couple of years or so and I still fart like crazy. I guess some people fart more than others? Thankfully I have a very fart-accepting vegan boyfriend! Probably because he farts all the time himself. And his DO smell like the apocalypse.

I fart very regularly. I'm not ashamed.

Damn straight! I try not to do it around others, though, since the smell is offensive. Otherwise, I am loud and proud.

Lots of reasons why this happens. Some ways to make it bettet is to drink enough water. Also pineapple and papaya have natural digestive enzymes, try eating these after u eat or as part of your regular diet.
Are u eating dried beans? They need to be soaked, the longer the better.

Thanks, everyone, your replies have ALL been very helpful; a few times I've doubled over in laughter as well!
