Any good vegan breads that I can get in Canada? Please don't tell me to make my own because that isn't happening. Ever.

Bread really isn't hard to make, but if you don't want to there are usually bakeries in a lot of the larger stores nowadays and you can talk to them about some loaves.

What part of Canada? I live in Alberta and phoned Safeway last week to check on their fresh-baked artisan bread (baguettes and french bread.) They are vegan in my area.

Yeah, most artisan breads are pretty much vegan - some do have the "may contain traces of milk" I think on their label though.

But other than that, there are sprouted grain breads for Silver Hills that is pretty good, and vegan too!

I was gonna say Silver Hills, too! If you're in BC, they're a local company, mostly organic, their bags are biodegradable, and their ingredient lists don't sound like a chemistry course! (They're on sale right now @ Choices, haha!)

Stickling's bread in Ontario is vegan; I also like the ezekial (sp?) bread found in the freezer section of the supermarket.

My absolute favorite is the Food For Life Ezekial 4:9 bread found in the freezer section like dancingvegan said. Sprouted grains/legumes make for a bread much healthier than any kind made from flour.

I second SkyDog's recommendation- super yummy and doesn't leave you feeling weighed down.

Tons of breads in my grocery stores are vegan unless there's something besides dairy and egg that I should be looking out for but don't realize. I'd be surprised if your grocery stores are different.
