What a wonderful surprise...I attended my best friends daughters graduation party today and his mom who is an amazing cook prepared 5 different vegan selections for me. She did all of her research, called a few friends that had friends who are vegan, spoke to them to make sure she made every dish correctly. I am so humbled and filled with gratitude. Her kindness will always be remembered.

Just thought I would share...

Haha, I feel like an idiot.

When I first read your subject line, I thought you meant Hostess, the cake company! I was wondering if you had emailed them or called them or something! LOL, that is so awesome though! It's nice to know some people out there will do things like that.

Maybe I should get some sleep...LOL

Aww that's nice. If it was me, I'd send her a small prezzie or thankyou card to acknowledge her efforts.

That is really really awesome of her! It's always so nice to have supportive family members. My mom is supportive of my decisions and when I visited her she ate vegetarian for every meal we had together except for one. And like 75% of them were vegan meals.

Me too. I got all excited, thinking they may have made Twinkies vegan.

Neat story, though.

Sorry everyone for getting you all excited about the "vegan" hostess cakes...I wanted to share this story because so many times we are frustrated with social events and what we can't have it's just nice to share a positive story.

As for saying thank you a card is already in the mail and flowers will arrive tomorrow morning

I have never felt so loved and so special at a social gathering. My best friend Brian and his sister both tried all the dishes she made and agreed that they were all very yummy and being vegan wasn't so bad.

Yeah, I did a double-take too. Just goes to show the power of marketing.

Nope, it's not bad at all when you have such nice friends. Lovely story Agrant.

Catch a shape in the circles of my mind.

Too bad about the Hostess cakes not being vegan.

That really is great that she did that for you. I would be so touched if someone did that for me.
