Hi Lola,

I saw that brand at Bel Air Store, tonight. I wish I had seen your post before I went, I would have picked some up at the same time I bought Tutti Wildberry non dairy icecream. It was sooooo good.

I didn't know Purely Decadent was making it with coconut milk now! I've tried the So Delicious coconut milk stuff and it's amazing.

There are a lot of Purely Decadent flavours at my local store but I think they just have the soy stuff so far. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

And on further inspection So Delicious and Purely Decadent are owned by the same company. I don't care just GIVE ME MY ICE CREAM!!!

EDIT: Okay, after looking at the website I'm getting really confused. So... it looks like in Canada they are coming out with the coconut milk stuff under the So Delicious name but in the States it's Purely Decadent? Or maybe we will eventually be getting Purely Decadent made with coconut milk here as well? Aargh! Also, it looks like they have coconut milk yogurt now. I WANT THAT!

I love this stuff (just finished off some of it tonight)! They even sent me a cool t-shirt that says "Lick Me, I'm Vegan."

This stuff is really good (I like the Peanut Butter Swirl)

I think Coconut Bliss is just a tad bit better though. I love the Cherry Amaretto. Luckily that's a flavor our local Whole Foods doesn't have. We can only get it when we go out to another WF we only visit every once in a while. Otherwise we'd be eating it all the time!

Oh man this all looks good! So far here in BC we have So Delicious coconut milk mint chocolate chip and cookie dough, and we have ice cream bars in coconut milk as well. I really really hope we get the other flavours soon. Plus, YOGURT! They are even making So Delicious coconut milk as an alternative to soy milk now.

They have coconut milk kefir as well (though I wish they could make it without carrageenan).

I'm in love with coconut as a dairy alternative. It has a better flavor than soy, and I tolerate it better than soy.

I really like the coconut milk ice creams but they are too expensive to have on a regular basis. Soy ice cream doesn't agree with me if I eat more than a tiny bit so I have pretty much given up ice cream. It probably has helped the weight loss issue though!

I am soooo going to go coconuticecreamhunting all over town! (I am 99,9% sure I will have no luck Most places here don`t have ANY milkfree icecreamalternatives at all. )

I have heard great things about this brand. The next time it goes on sale, I should splurg on a pint.

*side notes* Isn't Turtle Mountain the company that makes Tofurky products?

Have you tried rice milk ice cream? It's a bit cheaper (at least in my area) than the coconut and it tastes sooo good.

You can get some dollar-off coupons good for any So Delicious or Purely Decadent products here.

GingerFoxxTurtle Island makes Tofurky. It's confusing, 'cause both companies have the name "Turtle" in them and both are in Oregon, (I think.)

Hah, okay. At least I wasn't totally imagining a similarity there. Are turtles a state symbol in Oregon? I was not aware. If so, that's pretty neat. Learn something new every day. (=

If you can't find it, make a product request at the store. A lot of places are willing to bring in products that are requested if they think they will sell.

I have ordered a vegan ice cream cookbook; should be here today, yay!!

I have decided that I am going to make our ice creams for cost effective purposes. AKA: Husband eats the pint all by himself in one sitting.

There is an small electric ice cream maker that I have my eye on. You don't even need ice.

I also would like to learn to make frozen sorbets and italian ice that are vegan.

I would like to get an ice cream maker too, though you can make some without one. I have yet to try it though. I found some recipes somewhere. I will find and post later!

i got one of these http://www.cuisinart.com/products/ice_cream/ice-20.html

(mines pink though).

easy peesy- freeze the bowl, make your liquid stuff, chuck it in, turn it on, it goes round and round and scrapes off the side and ends up frozen after 20 mins or so.

i make sorbet all the time in it, and keep it in the freezer in little applesauce tubs with foil lids. and then the bf eats it all and i have to make more. so far we've done very zesty lemon, strawberry, strawberry and banana, cherry, raspberry, gooseberry, forest fruits, raspberry rhubarb (), peach icecream, chocolate icecream, coconut icecream, redcurrant icecream, blackcurrant sorbet.....

Sure - we need more people wearing these shirts!

Just send an email to

Joseph Garland

[email protected]

and:

Kevin Brouillette

[email protected]

...and tell them how much you love their product, tell them you are convincing your friends to try it, and would be happy to advertise for them...if only they would send you one of those great "Lick Me, I'm Vegan" shirts to wear around town. Be sure to tell them your shirt, thank them for your consideration, and promise to eat lots of Purely Decadent ice cream.

Be sure to post a picture with you wearing your shirt...I need to dig mine out of the laundy and do the same!
