I was going to use "Sluttering Heights," but that sounded like I was stuttering more than anything!

he says

"you don't UNDERSTAND, Kate. If you have a cool car and a Stetson, everybody LOVES you in America."

I think I should make him stop watching American TV.

THAT is freaking awesome!! Please let him do it and come see me in Chicago!! We'll go out to eat at The Chicago Diner and have a big, delicous vegan milk shake!! Hold on to your man though. There's something about accents that gets to all the American hussies we have around here

so, wandering down to see R didn't work so well. his dad phoned AGAIN. being a lazy monolingual I will wait for R to give the gist once he is off the phone but apparently his mum especially has been trying to micromanage his packing through Skype.

don't worry, he's a Mackem, I'm sure his accent won't be THAT attractive!

(there is Mackem/Geordie rivalry I like his accent really. haha.)

Krista is a member who came over from VW years ago. She was well-known for getting on certain people's nerves while being adored by others. I went back and forth on it, myself.

I can't tell you how many times I had the perfect title picked out, and then of course I didn't get the 5000th post, so anymore I don't think much about the title because it's a waste of mental energy.

My newest lunch obsession - a whole wheat tortilla with a bit of vegenaise, savory baked tofu, and a salad mixture of baby spinach, shredded carrots, tomatoes and clover sprouts with a bit soy ginger dressing all bundled up in a wrap.

How am I ever going to fit into my dress?!?

Well, great. For the next 5,000 posts, I'm going to be reminded of the time I wasted my winter vacation reading and writing an essay on A Tale of Two Cities because I was too lazy to do it when I was supposed to have done it.

I still hate that book.

I'm going to hazard a guess and say that 6 jam tarts, 1 raspberry jelly, and 2 cups of coffee isn't a healthy day.

I hate that book, too! What a hodgepodge of a plot, what inane main characters, and what a dismal portrayal of the French. Ugh! Hate that book!

When you start a slut thread, you can give it that title.

Sounds like that vacation was the "worst of times." Since you slut all the time, would I be correct in guessing you view this as part of the "best of times"?

I didn't like it all that much either, but the first page and the last line are most certainly memorable.

1. Well, I tried to hit the 5,000th post, but you beat me to it!

2. Yes, that's pretty accurate. But spending my winter vacation reading and writing an essay on a book I hate could not possibly be as horrible as the last year or so I spent at my most recent job. *shudder* Definitely among my worst of times.

3. This is true. Chas. Dickens had a way with words, I'll give him that.
