Luckily I don't need to address the issue for a few years because I plan on staying home with the tyke until schoolage or so.

But yeah...more info than you asked for I definitely have mixed feelings on the whole issue.

Well, thank you for the incite. I do think of the red tape in hospitals but I hope with this type of job there will ALWAYS be a job open. Not like hair, that is just bs all around.

Same for me! I haven't tried to get dim sum at an omni place since going veg*n but I can imagine it would be a frustrating experience.

I bought fresh bread for $1 at evil walmart and am now going to eat it with my homemade basil pesto. Mmm.

Yep. I end up just ordering something from the menu, and sometimes if I ask they will bring me spring rolls. I usually just try to get some Chinese broccoli without the sauce, and sometimes I can get rice noodles with just veggies (no shrimp/ham/egg). I don't go very often anymore, though. Sadness.

I went to a fantastic all vegetarian dim sum place in New York City's Chinatown when I was there earlier this summer. I wish something like it existed locally.

We have a Chinatown in Los Angeles. I'm sure you can find vegetarian dim sum 'round here somewhere.

Whatever that is.

It's unfortunate, but as far as I can tell LA's Chinatown doesn't have any vegetarian or even particularly vegetarian friendly restaurants.

Wellok, but we have plenty of Chinese restaurants that are not in Chinatown. You may still get lucky.
