In case anyone doesn't get the significance of the thread title,I'll post this again:

Quote:
Yukon Freeze It
Call Center | Kelowna, BC, Canada
Me: Thank you for calling [Cell Phone Company] customer service. How can I help you?

Caller: You sound different. Where are you from?

Me: Canada. Is there something I can help you with?

Caller: Canada? How big is the igloo you work in?

Me: Sir, we dont live in igloos. In fact, its about 40˚ here at the moment.

Caller: 40˚ is freezing!

Me: 40˚ Celsius. Thats 104˚ Fahrenheit.

Caller: Oh my god, how do you keep your igloos from melting?!

So, is Dudley Do-Right really as tall as he appears on TV?

Wow, I just found out that one of the contestants on So You Think You Can Dance, Janick Arseneau is from my city! This is quite an accomplishment since we're a pretty small area, and most people that get on these things from NB are normally from the bigger cities!

Good morning. Please note I put the apostrophe in the correct place in the title. You can just call me The Grammar Nerd. Or does The Grammar Geek sound better?

I hate it when you tell someone something and a few days later, they ask you information on the same item... because they weren't paying attention the other day. Not even "Oh, I forgot what you said," it's more "Wow, that sounds cool, where can I get that?" Ummm... I already told you.

My mother does that all the time, but then she's almost 85 years old and has senile dementia. Only in her case, it only takes her an hour or so to forget what I already told her.

Completely forgetting and not paying attention the first time are totally different

Actually, not really. My mother has always had what would now be called Adult ADD or whatever. She just doesn't pay close attention to anyone or anything. Put that together with old age and you have someone who forgets things ten minutes after you tell her.

Gemma is going to be sorry she started what she started. I'm going to go back to posting that little song at the end of every slut thread, you know, the one Brandon hates. And then Brandon will blame Gemma.

truth is I love Gemma and I'm just teasin' because it's summer and it's too hot in here to think rationally.

Your Mom's situation is different though. I hate being ignored when I'm talking, especially since I'm mostly a listener to begin with when it comes to certain people.

It was 42 degrees (6 Celsius) here when I woke up this morning, so the igloo is holding up fine!

Does your city have sidewalks? Wilmington is devoid of sidewalks and pedestrian traffic controls. It's really brutal to walk around here in certain parts. My favorite is they have sidewalks on the *corners* of the city blocks, 3 squares, and then grass. What???

Oh, and it is 85 degrees outside right now. : )

Well, yeah, I'm the same way. I just needed an excuse to rant about my mom.

Chapel Hill/Carrboro is really great when it comes to sidewalks and bike lanes because of the university.

The little downtown area near the river is a nice place to walk around in Wilmington.

Yeah, you can walk around that area fairly well (downtown), but the city has grown quickly and the newer areas are devoid of pedestrian crossing, crosswalks, cross now signals, and sidewalks. On a lot of streets, there are worn down paths in the grass from bikes and such and suddenly in front of one business there is a sidewalk, and then it end after the business. It's insane. Apparently they are aware and are working on it. They set up bike lanes in some parts of the city and have accepted plans to make more.

I can't wait, I bike everywhere and am reluctant to get a car anytime soon.

My visits to Chapel Hill were interesting. Weird artsy vibe there, street musicians and college students. I ate at the Mediterranean restaurant on the main strip. There was also a record (as in vinyl) shop there I remember checking out.
