You say "and right from the ALF website" like that would mean it must be factual. Not that I'm doubting what they say, but I think a lot of omnis would dismiss what they are saying because of who they are. I prefer to provide links to non-AR sources because non-AR people find them more credible.

I do like that they put the health reasons first because at least omnis would be more interested in that and then they can go on to read about AR reasons for becoming veg*n.

Love it. I live in a house with 4 other omnis. I posted this on the refrigerator since everyone eats and they'd be sure to see it. I printed the whole list and stuck it there. Its been there for a while. Today the main omni (the one who eats the most meat) asked me about it. I was so happy to be able to talk about it. Normally she turns a deaf ear and then I get oh well I love meat. I was so happy to be able to educate her. Thanks so much.

I am sending that list to my mom. She's always has been worried I'd drop dead of a heart attack at an early age and hopefully those statistics will ease her fears somewhat. And maybe she will read the rest of the list and think twice next time she chows down on that ham.

"By reducing your consumption of meat, dairy products and eggs by 50%, you reduce your risk of a heart attack by 45%. By following a pure vegetarian diet (no animal products at all) you reduce your risk by 90%."

That annoys me. That should be vegan, not vegetarian. I am constantly explaining to people that vegetarians still might eat eggs, dairy, or honey, and vegans are the ones who don't eat any animal products at all. It is so annoying when people try to tell me that I'm not a vegetarian if I consume dairy.

Nitpick over.

I think that 'pure vegetarian' 'strict vegetarian' and 'vegan' are regarded as synonymous by many people.
