Vitamin, Mineral, & Protein Recommendations

I have started a vegetarian diet and was wondering if there are vitamin and/or mineral supplements I should consider to replace what I may not be getting on a vegetarian diet?

I think I'm getting enough protein from a egg whites, collagen protein and plant based protein powder.

Hi MajGas, and welcome to the forum!

If you are following a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet (one that includes eggs and dairy products), the Vegetarian Society UK has published this food guide: https://www.vegsoc.org/wp-content/up...ie_MAR2018.pdf .

If you are following a vegan vegetarian diet (one that excludes eggs and dairy products), the Vegan Society UK has published this food guide and recommendations: https://www.vegansociety.com/resourc...ition-overview .

Egg whites and plant-based protein powder are concentrated sources of protein! Collagen is also a protein, but it's not vegetarian; it's only present in animal tissues: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collagen

Specific recommendations for a healthy diet include: eating more fruit, vegetables, legumes, nuts and grains; cutting down on salt, sugar and fats. It is also advisable to choose unsaturated fats, instead of saturated fats and towards the elimination of trans-fatty acids."

When I first went veg'n I did like Alive Ultra shake. It's taste is debatable- like vanilla orange to me, I really liked it! Not saying you need anything, but in the beginning I think it can help when you can't instantly think of food you want

To emphasize what David mentioned... Collagen is not vegetarian. It's derived from nonhuman skin, hooves, connective tissue, digestive organs and bones.

Herbal Vape

Along with a healthy diet, I take a vape pen. This vape pen consists of vaporized vitamin B12. For the vegan vitamin B12 supplements is very important, as we can’t take any animal-based foods. So you can try this. This vape pen helps to regulate mood, promote natural energy production and prevents fatigue.
