This is absolutely my favorite article on the subject:

Soy is making kids gay

Sometimes when I'm having a really bad day and find myself questioning my morals and sexuality, I simply go to this guy for spiritual guidance and advice, and suddenly the world just seems like a happier and friendlier place to live.

I can't help myself.

I eat soy and I'm gay!!!

Since most animals used for meat are female, and phytoestrogen is nowhere near as potent as animal oestrogen, couldn't it be likely that meat would make you gay?

Doubt it. If estrogen is what makes people gay, all women would be lesbians, and it would be easy to get "treatment", if people didn't want to be gay.

In other words, it doesn't.

lol!!! I love this thread!

I don't eat soy, and I'm gay

and if it does make you gay, we should start spiking the meals of uber conservative homophobes.

not that you can actually become gay... because, well, i'm not sure who knows the secret, but you're born that way.

I don't know about that. I've got more than a few friends who say they 'became' gay in their 20's or 30's. They swear they were not before...I wouldn't be the one to call them a liar.

These were all women....

LOL

Foods do NOT make you gay. You are born gay, the food you eat doesn't make you gay. Some omnivore probably wrote that to keep people away from soy products.....

That is quite funny though. Don't believe everything you read/hear.

It's not even that high in estrogen. Milk contains far more estrogen than soy based foods.

Omar -

As my name implies....I eat a lot of tofu & other soy products.

I have been married a long time, and have never been attracted to men.

So, I would say that soy products have nothing to do with your sexual preference.

All animals should be respected & should have the ability to lead a natural & enjoyable life. This means not eating them, or abusing them in any way.

I have heard from my mates so many times that I am going to develop breasts from eating soya based products. It's incredible the way some people think!

Some ex vegan I was on a forum on was slating the diet and made the outrages claim she went from a B cup to a DD in around 7 months and it was all down to tofu consumption! She was being serious as well but was obviously talking rubbish to try and make the vegan diet sound dangerous.

She either ate a ton of tofu or is incredibly sensitive to the phytoestrogens in soy.  If it was that easy to get bigger boobs then women wouldn't waste £3,000 upwards on risky breast surgery!

But just in case .... *adds industrial quantities of tofu, soymilk and tempeh to shopping list*

Lol, a B cup is great by Asian standards.

And they say we eat the most tofu too.

So what we're really saying is soy prevents boobs from growing past a B.

*Gives Quiet Vegan her own tofu and soya milk*

I see male meat eaters with breasts. Maybe eaten too much chicken?

My usual answer: I have never heard a convincing reason to eat meat.
