Vegan Paint?

Anyone know any vegan paint for artists? Worried about animal derived pigments and animal testing of paints.

I have seen a artist painting only with mashed flower, vegetable and biodegradable homemade paint, the concept was nice but i didnt liked her style unfortunately to buy one...

I know that some red pigment in food is made from insect, but i dont know if its the same with paint.

Sorry for responding to a such old thread, but its a great question, i don't know much about vegan paint.

I'll buy a tonne of the blue watercolor pigment, seriously this blue is my new love. Its cool to see pigment not cancerious, i once mistaken my tea with my watercolor paint and drank a bit of it, oops.

Thank you, this site seem epic.

The oil in oil paints is plant-sourced: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oil_painting

I did some online research into oil paint pigments. It appears that, with few exceptions, the pigments are made from metal oxides / minerals or synthetic dyes: http://teresabernardart.com/tag/oil-paint-ingredients/

Here is an art supply company that doesn't test on animals, and that discloses which of their paints contain animal ingredients: http://www.daler-rowney.com/content/...tested-animals . I imagine that other art supplies companies might be willing to supply you with this information as well - just email them.
