Almost Real Tuna Salad

Category: Sandwiches/Burgers

This recipe is suitable for a: vegetarian/vegan diet

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Serves: 2



1 can Chickpeas, mashed

2 tbs Veganaise, more or less to taste

1/2 tsp. Kelp Powder** don't skip this!

1/2 tbs. Nutritional Yeast

1 tsp. Soy Sauce


Sweet Pickle Relish (or dill) to taste

1 stalk chopped celery

chopped onion to taste

...just add whatever you like!

it's totally subjective



Drain and rinse the chickpeas before mashing. Add all the ingredients and stir. Done!

Additional comments:


I add a little mustard to mine.

The original recipe recommends 1/2 tbs of Miso but I feel like that's unnecessary, so I leave it out. If you want it, more power to you!

I found Kelp Powder at Whole foods in the spice section. Dulse Flakes can be used as a sub, but I've never tried them.

but I halved the recipe and made some changes...
