Deluxe Grilled Cheese

Ingredients:

2 slices bread per sandwich (try several types!)
butter
2 slices cheese per sandwich (try several types!)
lettuce
tomato
onion (optional)
Instructions:

Start by buttering the bread on one side, and heating skillet/griddle to 275-300* (medium-high on oven). Place each slice bread, butter side down, on skillet. One cheese slice on each piece bread. Grill until cheese is melty.
Remove from skillet, to plate, keeping bread separate. Top one slice bread with veggies, and top with 2nd slice bread. Cut down middle.
Eat while warm.

FILLING tasty alternative to the basic grilled cheese sandwich. Having whole grain bread is a great way to boost flavor and nutrients~ deluxe american slices work great with this, as do colby-jack, meunster, pepperjack, etc. I haven't found a cheese, yet (sliced) that didn't work well with this~
